Leadership & governance
GTI is served by South Sudanese and international leaders who give oversight, accountability and practical support — so that the mission stays anchored in Scripture.
The Board of Directors is composed of South Sudanese leaders responsible for overall policy direction, strategic leadership and organisational oversight — ensuring GTI operates in accordance with its vision, mission and objectives.
Board Chair
Mary Ade Samuel is a born-again Christian. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and is currently serving as the Director of Finance at the Episcopal University of South Sudan.
Mary brings to the board a wealth of more than 20 years’ experience serving with different organisations, and provides oversight of GTI’s finances and governance as Board Chair.
Board Secretary
Kenyi is a professing Christian in the Anglican church. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies from Kampala International University.
He serves as the team lead (Executive Director) of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan Environmental Network, with over seven years of progressive experience in NGO programme design, implementation and management. His competencies include project cycle management, donor engagement, partnership building, proposal writing and resource mobilisation, alongside leading multidisciplinary teams and strengthening governance structures.
Board Member
Taban Joel is a professing Christian actively serving as a choir leader at his local church. He currently serves as the Human Resource Manager at OVCI in Juba, South Sudan.
Joel holds a diploma in procurement and logistics management and has nearly 15 years of service with different organisations, including the aviation sector in Juba.

Rev. Alex Freezer is an Anglican ordained minister and the Pastor in Charge of Christ the King Parish in Juba. He completed his Diploma in Theology at Bishop Gwynne College in 2017 and holds a Bachelor’s degree from George Whitefield College (2020), and is completing his Master’s degree at Ugandan Christian University.
Alex is currently the Dean of Students at the Episcopal University of South Sudan, Juba. He is married to Rebecca Matthew, and God has blessed them with four children. He is a devoted Christian who loves serving God in every capacity, and will lead GTI’s Equip the Church (ETC) programme.

Seme T. Jackson Ludanga is a committed Christian and a lay minister in the Anglican Church. He completed his Diploma in Theology at Bishop Gwynne College in 2018, a Bachelor’s degree in 2023, an Honours degree in 2024, and completed his Master’s degree in 2026 — all at George Whitefield College.
Seme was a Greek Tutor at GWC and served as a student elder at St. Barnabas Bible Church while in Cape Town. He is currently serving as a volunteer with Living Word Uganda to learn the model of training that will be applied in South Sudan. Seme is married to Esther Akinyi, and God blessed them with a daughter, Fides Akita Ludanga.
Bishop of Rokon Diocese
Right Rev. Emmanuel Lomoro Eluzai is the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rokon, in Central Equatoria, South Sudan. He was consecrated as the third Bishop of Rokon in May 2022 and has since given himself to teaching, peace-building and the practical needs of the communities the diocese serves.
Bishop Lomoro holds a master's degree in Diplomacy and Global Studies from Nkumba University in Uganda. He is a strong voice for the people of Juba County — especially for the safe return of displaced families to Rokon and for better schools, roads and health care — and he is currently leading the diocese's centenary celebrations, marking 100 years since Christianity reached the Yangwara territory (1926–2026). He brings to GTI's Board a deep love for the Church in South Sudan and a conviction that faithful Bible teaching is central to its health.
The Reference Board is made up of international advisory members who provide strategic guidance, networking opportunities and external advisory support to GTI’s leadership.
Reference Board Chair
Simon Clegg is a committed Christian and the Pastor of St. Barnabas Bible Church, Cape Town, South Africa. He is also a part-time lecturer at George Whitefield College.
Simon gained experience in the business world as a banker before joining ministry, and brings a wealth of wisdom into the organisation. Simon is married to Gillian, and both have two adult daughters and four grandchildren.
Reference Board Secretary
Vanessa Klentzos is a committed Christian. Trained as a lawyer, she is the CEO and Director of Core Training and Development in Cape Town, South Africa.
She has served in a range of organisations and brings a wealth of experience to GTI’s advisory board. Vanessa was married to Darien, and God blessed them with a son.

Geoff Huston is a committed Christian who serves as a lay minister at St. Mary’s Chesham, and is an experienced businessman.
He brings into the organisation a wealth of experience and advises the management team. Geoff has three adult children and six grandchildren.

Simon Tustin is a committed Christian and the former CEO of Anglican International Development (AID-UK).
Simon has worked and established many projects in South Sudan during his time as CEO of AID-UK, and brings vast knowledge and experience into the organisation.
Day-to-day operations are managed by the management team, led by an Executive Director who implements GTI’s programmes, manages staff and reports to the Board of Directors and the Reference Board.

Equip the Church — Programme Lead
Rev. Alex Frazer Paul is an Anglican ordained minister, Pastor in Charge of Christ the King Parish in Juba, and Dean of Students at the Episcopal University of South Sudan.
Alex will lead the ETC programme once he begins working full-time with GTI. Until then, Ajang Panchol leads the programme.
Classroom Ministry Training — Lead
Ajang Panchol is a young man who loves the Lord Jesus. He is currently completing his honours degree at George Whitefield College.
He has expressed admiration for GTI and a willingness to serve after finishing his studies. Ajang leads the CMT programme and currently leads the ETC programme until Rev. Alex joins full-time.
Communications
Rev. Esther is an ordained minister in the Anglican Church of Kenya with a deep passion for ministry, education, and community engagement.
She holds a Diploma in Theology from St. Paul’s University, a higher certificate in Children’s Ministry, and a Bachelor’s degree in Theological Studies from George Whitefield College. Rev. Esther serves with the Gospel Training Initiative (GTI) as the Communication lead.
GTI prayerfully seeks gospel-minded individuals, churches, institutions and organisations to share the work — so that no one misses training because of cost. The door is open.
